Elsa Schiaparelli is one of the most important fashion designers from the 1920's-1950's who created abstract and surrealist work and has since then been an avant garde inspiration for designers. Working with important artists and tastemakers such as Salvador Dali and Jean Cocteau, her work is not only culturally significant but also one of the most valuable and desirable pieces to collect.
Own a piece of history with this Elsa Schiaparelli brooch from the 1950's, this signed brooch from the famed designer is inset with pink and amethyst coloured stones crafted to look like a conch shell. It is also designed with a teardrop shaped dangling pink stone. The colour pink is synonymous with the house of Schiaparelli as that was the signature colour of the house appearing in many of her works. Her jewellery pieces in the 50's were geared towards nature and floral themes, and this particular brooch is evident of that. Truly a must have for any collector.
The brooch measures 8cm.
