Lanvin

Thought to be one of the oldest fashion houses in Paris, Lanvin was founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, who began creating dresses for her daughter before designing couture womenswear (hence the mother and child logo that lives on to this day). A visionary of her time, the “Mother of Fashion” became known for the iconic robe de style dress, straight and narrow on the torso and puffing at the hips with beading or embroidery, a silhouette which defined the 1920s style and was significant in paving the way for haute couture.
